What is Play Pathfinder all about?

Play Pathfinder is an ambitious project to refurbish at least 29 play areas in parks, housing estates and adventure playgrounds in Lambeth, including a completely new type of play area, Lambeth’s first ever ‘play park’, at Max Roach Park in Brixton.

The project focuses on outdoor and natural play, using sustainable materials such as wood, boulders and water to provide fun, exciting and challenging play areas.

The project is primarily funded through Government's National Play Strategy with additional finances from Lambeth Council and other partners.

Play Pathfinder forms part of Lambeth’s 10 year Play Strategy, an ambitious document which demonstrates Lambeth’s commitment to play for children and young peopl.

June 2009 saw the launch of six completely refurbished play areas and a further 13 play areas will be complete in 2010.
