Lambeth’s UK Youth Parliament Andrew Short has been shortlisted for a prestigious campaign award being offered by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation. The award is offered to young people working to make positive changes within their communities, and as one of those young people shortlisted Andrew has been invited to an interview on 13 July.

Andrew said: “It’s great to have been shortlisted for this award. At the moment if you are aged 16-18 and still in school or college, it is costing you a significant amount of money to receive what should be a ‘free’ education. We believe this should be changed so that less well-off young people are not put off of further education.”

Well done Andrew!
