Lambeth’s Deputy Youth Mayor Emmanuel Adepoju represented the Youth Council at this year’s Jack Petchey Awards, celebrating the achievements of young people from all over the borough.
Jack Petchey is a Foundation which provides grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25. It was founded by businessman Jack Petchey in 1999 and has donated over £50m to projects over the last 10 years.
Emmanuel said: “The Jack Petchey award Ceremony was a great opportunity to watch. The reason for this is because I was amazed by what the youth actually can achieve if they put their mind to it. So this award ceremony gave me a great boost because it backed me up on my campaigned on how there is a group of good youths that can actually do well in our borough. This is because the news has brain washed some adults that how the youth today are a bad influence and role models to people younger than them”.
