Lambeth’s Youth Mayor, Samuel Manley, took time to present a prize at the Lambeth in Bloom awards last night, to honour the work of people using gardening to brighten up their local area.
The event, organised by the borough’s Housing, Regeneration and Environment department – and hosted by ‘Guerrilla Gardener’ Richard Reynolds – saw prizes awarded for ‘Best Estate’, ‘Best Balcony’ and ‘Best Paved Garden’ amongst others.
Samuel gave out the prize for the year’s Best Young Gardener, which went to Teagon Week for what the judges described as a “lovely selection of colourful plants and vegetables”.
Well done Teagon!
