16 October 2009

This week is Local Democracy Week, and young people involved in Lambeth Youth Council have spent it touring the borough’s schools, to deliver workshops on what ‘Democracy’ means, and how young people in Lambeth can get involved.

Peer Educators from the borough’s Youth Council visited 6 schools across the borough to promote the Youth Council, the upcoming 11 Million Takeover Day, and the 2010 Youth Mayor & UK Youth Parliament Elections.

The Youth Council exists to give young people in Lambeth a voice, and a way of creating positive change in their local community. The Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month, and is open to any young person aged 11-19 who lives, works or studies in the borough.
