This weekend Lambeth’s elected Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) Stephanie Harb and Daniel Longe joined nearly 100 other young people from across London for a 3-day training residential on the Isle of Wight.
The residential, organised by the UK Youth Parliament (UKYP), gave newly-elected MYPs from across London an introduction to the UKYP, and training around campaigning on the issues that matter to young people.
Amongst a busy schedule of team-building activities, MYPs took part in sessions looking at ‘Understanding the decision-making process’, ‘Representing young people’, ‘Equalities’, and ‘Campaigning’.
MYP for Lambeth, Stephanie Harb said: “It was great to meet all the other MYPs and Deputy MYPs from across London. The weekend was really good fun, and I learned a lot about how the UK Youth Parliament works. It definitely gave me some ideas about how I can campaign for young people in Lambeth”.
